Praca prezentuje XVII- i XVIII-wieczną francuską baśń literacką (conte de fées) w kontekście społeczności salonowej i kształtującej się koncepcji dzieciństwa oraz recepcję wydawniczą i krytyczną, przede wszystkim w formie przekładów i adaptacji, tekstów z tego gatunku (w szczególności baśni Perraulta, d’Aulnoy, Lhéritier de Villandon, Fénelona i Leprince de Beaumont) w polskiej literaturze dla dzieci w latach 1743-2018, z uwzględnieniem zmiennego kontekstu kulturowego, społecznego i ideologicznego.
